Eyelid lift (Blepharoplasty)
Blepharoplasty is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic surgeries worldwide. Age and gravity combine to cause laxity and descent of the facial tissues over time, and nowhere is this more noticeable than in the area around the eyes. Typical changes include heaviness of the upper eyelid and fullness of the lower eyelid.
Blepharoplasty is an outpatient surgery designed to correct these changes and restore a youthful appearance to the lids and the eyes. Excess tissue of the upper and lower lids can be removed, recontoured, or repositioned. Incisions are camouflaged in the upper eyelid crease and along the inside of the lower eyelid. This surgery is commonly performed for cosmetic reasons, and produces a refreshed, natural appearance. Occasionally, upper eyelid blepharoplasty can be performed to increase the field of vision in an individual whose heavy lids diminish their peripheral vision.
Forehead lift
The forehead lift is a procedure that repositions and elevates sagging eyebrows and smooths vertical and horizontal forehead wrinkles. Relaxation of the forehead over time can cause the brows to droop over the upper eyelids. Many patients believe their eyelids are the issue, when in fact it is their sagging brows causing this heavy-lidded appearance. Elevation of the forehead repositions the brows and restores a youthful contour to the brows and upper lids. In addition, patients with sagging brows compensate by engaging the strong forehead muscles, which can produce deep furrows. Elevating the brows eliminates this drive, and tightening the forehead smooths these wrinkles.
This outpatient procedure can be performed through an incision in the hairline or by utilizing endoscopes through incisions placed further back in the scalp. Both approaches camouflage the surgical site and produce a natural, refreshed result. The forehead lift may be combined with an upper eyelid blepharoplasty and other cosmetic procedures in selected patients.
Midface lift
The midface lift is a procedure the elevates sagging cheeks through tiny incisions either in the nasolabial fold (extending between the nose and lips) and the temporal hairline, or through the inside of the lower eyelid. Lifting the cheek restores natural fullness to the midface and softens the nasolabial folds.
Facelift
When people hear the term “facelift” they think about an incredibly invasive procedure that leaves the skin looking stretched and tight. However facelifting techniques have evolved over the past decade. We utilize a multilayered approach that tightens the deeper tissues of the face, resulting in a smoother, longer lasting, rejuvenated appearance. The incisions are camouflaged in the scalp and the natural creases of the ear. This lift reverses the visible signs of facial aging such as the development of jowls, deepened smile lines, excess neck folds, and a sagging chin.
A common question we hear is “at what age should I have a facelift?” There is no “right” age. We tell our patients that if you are happy with your appearance, there is no need for any intervention. When those wrinkles and folds begin to bother you, it is time to do something about them. From minimally invasive procedures such as Botox and fillers right up through advanced face lifting techniques, our goal is to provide you with the correction you desire and a natural, appropriate, and rejuvenated looking you.
